Stool Transplantation in Severe Alcoholic Liver Disease

We did the first alcoholic stool transplantation in severe alcohol liver disease in the world. And what we found out was that the patients who received a healthy stool, rich in good bacteria from healthy donors, their joint is reduced and their hepatitis reduced. So they never needed liver transplantation after that. The stool transplantation protocol was born there as part of my thesis. I think we have published more than four to five original papers on that topic. American Gastroology Association has actually mentioned that in patients with severe alcoholic liver disease, if there are no options for medical treatment and they have no options for a liver transplant, this is a salvage option.
