Casefile True Crime
Symptoms of Scitsophrenia
Doctor chaplow considered the possibility that chand could be faking his symptoms in an attempt to get away with murder. Chand had never demonstrated any remorse for killing christie, but now he acknowledged that living the rest of his life knowing what he'd done to her would be one of his biggest challenges. Scitsophrenia is a psychiatric illness that typically begins during young adult hood and can cause delusions and hallucinations. Doctor chaplow concluded that when chant killed christie, he was psychotic and completely unaware that he was experiencing auditory hallucinations. The nature of his illness meant he didn't understand that his actions were morally wrong.
