The film has a lot of monarch type symbolism throughout, says Janelle Manet. The butterfly imagery in the movie on the poster on the cover of the lead characters book and then you see it on her laptop is like they were assigned to put trauma based in mind control in but couldn't figure out how to do it. "I really think the woke stuff is downstream of Monarch because it really does traumatize everybody in different ways," she adds.
