Can I Make Deep Connections With a Small Group of People?

i don't like education being behind pawals, which is what ph ds are ther part of. So i'm trying to get rid of that. How do we get rid of it? Well, firstly, we need a network. We need connections. We need people in industry to be forward thinking enough to accept other people into it. It's just knowing the right people. And once you've found those couple of people, which hopefully i will end up doing in my field anyway, and during my ph t, then you can start coordinating other people in there.
