Lafayette and the French Aristocracy
Lafayette represented just how different the world could be in every way, especially from the perspective of hierarchy and natural order. The idea that people being judged off of their abilities and off of their merit was a transformative moment in his life. And i think that lafayettecm red his encounters with these french aristocrats who he was like. They weren't aristocrats. They didn't have noble blood. They were sort of rising up from nothing.
