The Importance of Community in the Streaming Industry
The royalty rates have been set on the mechanical side by a board of three judges, copyright royalty judges based in Washington. They are known collectively as the copyright royalty board and they set those rates after hearing from the stakeholders involved with the rate setting process. Just last month we paid out royalties at the new FONA four rates for the first time. Those rates were marked improvement over the rates that we had been applying which interestingly were the FONA two rates. And unfortunately sitting here today four or five months into the FONa four rate period we still do not have final rates for theFONA three period,. So that is I think by every measure not ideal in any way.
