In some of your earlier work, you wouldn't have emphasized ideology so much. So it seems to me, in both development economics and also in labor economics, your now embracing noms more. Why do you think you previously underestimated culture in both labor economics and more broadly? Well, i think many of us come from a more materialist background. There is an evolutionary process there. Second, it's also what's acceptable in economics. Third, what you can really model and empirically measure.
