The Fourth Step Is Listening to What You're Saying
You need to pay attention to not just the words that are being said but the nonverbal cues. And then if you want to test yourself a really great exercise is to then repeat back what the other person has said. We don't do that enough with people. It's like we spend so much time thinking about how we're going to respond to what they're saying rather than engaging them and making sure we understand them.
