The French Position on NATO

There's a lot of stuff going on to the surface here. The Turkey question obviously brings the French question up in a different form. Mahkom was sending off a warship to the East Mediterranean in the months preceding, I think it was a summer maybe preceding the pandemic. So the Turkey question and the elevation of Turkey's importance within NATO also poses some issues for the French position. But if you think about it from the American point of view, there isn't any way that they're going to disentangle the China question and the Russia question.
