Avatars of Vishnu, a Central Pantheon of Gods in Hinduism
The concept of avatar has very early roots, but it was particularly used extensively during the process of do synthesis. And vishnu also takes on many different forms and personas. For ance, it's traditionally understood that krishna, the wise teacher in the mahab harta, and rama are forms or appearances of vishnu. So they can be called, in this sense, avatars of v Vishnu.
