Aki Kaurasmaki's Fallen Leaves
I think to me it seems like a trend like there is this cultural and aesthetic grappling with how do you show these things without having a predigested or didactic morality to them. Rachel I know you mentioned the Aki Kaurasmaki film Fallen Leaves I think that's actually a great example of a very different take on his films. He actually for a long time has been using this role there's this artifice but getting to talking about contemporary issues socio political issues in fairly direct ways.
