The Monodology and the Death of Leidenitzman
Leidenitz was famously a genius and polymath. Two years before he died, he wanted to sort of summarize his philosophical system. He used this concept of the infinitesimal in calculus which corresponds to the monad. The two big concerns that Leidenitz had as a philosopher or what he calls the two labyrinths. One is freedom, the problem with freedom and the other is the problem of continuum,. Those two problems are sort of what lead to this crazy or crazy seeming system.
