The Fall of Nineveh is a battle that took place in 612 BC. The Assyrian Empire was torn apart by an alliance of Medes and Babylonians. A wall of flames consumes the horizon, burning through whole districts of Mosul. In the foreground, civilians wail and rend their garments as they huddle around the last of their nation's wealth.
