How to Ask an Open-Ended Question Effectively
The evidence suggests that asking open-ended questions is much more effective. If you simply change your language, to be really rigorous with asking questions and begin with the words what and how, you're in a much better space to have an effective conversation with an athlete about bringing out their internal motivation or helping them to get on board with something they might be involved inabout. The first step is just developing that itch to get better at these questions, right? Just on itself. It's like Texas Hold on. This is like chess. You learn the mechanisms of it and then you spend a lifetime trying to figure out what you did differently.
