The Problem With Control

The libertarian argument is that your actions can be traced back to factors which lie beyond your control. But if you frame it in terms of what I call the proper determinants of your relevant states over here, so we're thinking about your reasons comprising your desires and your beliefs and your values, then there's no problem with this argument. The compatibilist version says: "Why would we complain about a series of things they say? And that seems like a great action to have right?" So now imagine us as an addict who cannot butt inject because he or she has got strong coercive force internally requiring them to shoot up.
