Thomas Merton wrote a book called Conjectures of a Guilty by Sander of an Experience that he had in Louisville in March of 1958, so about 50 years ago. He said: "I was suddenly overwhelmed with the realization that I loved all of those people" If only we could see each other that way all the time, there would be no more war, no more hatred, no more cruelty, and no more greed,. Yeah, that's it. And as you initially pointed out, that experience has touched so many people that there's a plaque, there's a metal plaque, that spot today.
