What Is WebAssembly?

Kurt Schulte: WebAssembly is an instruction set that can be compiled to a machine-readable format. He says it's similar to Java, which was designed for embedded systems but now works on all kinds of devices. Schulte said the security sandbox model allows developers to access facilities familiar to them even if they're not ideally backed by the operating system itself.
