Since we recorded this episode of the Sloaneusecast, there have been a fair few developments. The new Treasury Permanent Secretary is an old hand, he's James Bowler. He has denied that the sacking of Tom Scholer had anything to do with the mini-budget or that he'd sidelined the office for budget responsibility. Quasi Quatang has brought forward his medium term fiscal plan, either moment when he'll set out plans to cut the country's debt.
