067 Chap Bettis: How Understanding Temptation Reorients Us
The Disciple-Making Parent
Jesus Is a High Priest
In Matthew 4-4, Jesus' ministry begins with a temptation. After he had fasted 40 days and 40 nights, he was hungry. The tempter approached him and said, if you're the son of God, tell these stones to become bread. We know he's tempted two other ways as well. He ends his ministry with temptation in the Garden of Gethsemane. So much temptation, he sweat like drops of blood. And since he himself has suffered when he was tempted, he's able to be. He's able to help those who are tempted.
