Self Compassion - A Common Positive Psychology Technique
The third technique they took a look at hinged on self compassion. It's a writing exercise where you would think of a time you were disappointed in yourself or you failed. You try to view it through a compassionate understanding lens. Interestingly, according to the study, this was not a very effective technique. But like I mentioned near the start of the video, self compassion based techniques have been shown to be effective in a lot of other studies.
