Is There a Natural First Go to Move?
There is an organic feeling kind of move where we do the thought experiment of putting ourselves in other people's shoes. It seems to me like what feels like a very natural first go to move is to say, what I have done that. Have I done the same thing in like circumstances? Peter Singer has written about the fact that humans everywhere. seem to be compelled to defend certain kinds of actions in kind of universal terms. In other words, they have to say, well, anybody in my shoes would have done this or would have been entitled to do it.
