Is the Extended Keyboard a Good Idea?
With the extended keyboard, you've got a function keys F 13 through F 19 that you don't have on the standard keyboard. You can go into applications and set those numbers or maybe say hold down option and press those numbers to trigger automations. That gives you in effect another whole set of buttons you can use for automation. And yeah, like I would say that if folks are interested in the idea, you can pick these up for less than 10 bucks on Amazon.
