Wachis Gatherng's Experience in Salt Lake City

Wachis Gatherng grew up on the South Side of Chicago, not far from a Discover call center. She moved to Salt Lake City when she was in her early 20s but found it hard to fit in with other young African-American women there. After moving to Arizona for high school, "I realized that you don't have to ask for ketchup from behind the counter" at McDonald's.
