Introduction

This episode was recorded in September of 2017. I had every intention of posting it shortly after it was recorded, though that obviously didn't happen. Over the past two years, I have gone through some substantial personal challenges and I simply couldn't bring myself to do any work on talk of today. In future episodes there will be a lot more to do with philosophy and complexity science which are things I'm actively studying at the moment. Lisa Felvin Barrett is a university distinguished professor of psychology at Northeastern University. Her ongoing work on emotions has resulted in a radical new theory of how the brain creates emotions. She has published more than 200 peer reviewed research papers in top scientific journals including The New York
