The Role of Religious Relics in the Middle Ages
Relics might seem hopelessly out of date and hard to authenticate for our modern sensibilities. But religious relics today can show us what was once highly treasured in the Middle Ages. A relic might be a piece of bone in a small jewel-like box or even the entire skeleton of a holy person stored in a glass coffin under the altar.
