The History of Linoleum in Japan

Kakori became the world center of linoleum. It went into a decline because new materials like vinyl came along and presumably like linoleum is a natural product. In 1963, they announced that they were going to move basically all of their production to stains in Middlesex where Frederick Walton had had his factory at one point. And so that meant I think it was the loss of 1,500 jobs. So by the early 60s, you've got nens, which began as shepherd and beverage, then was Barry Osler and Shepherd. And they were the sort of second biggest and second oldest Birmingham Coddie.
