How to Minimize the Number of Times You Check Your Phone
People check their phone on abouta conservative estimate, s about 50 times a day. If you're up for 16 hours, that means you're checking your phone basically every 20 minutes. We have fewer and fewer of these moments where technology just kind of crowds out these moments that we would let our mind wander. For me, i don't know if it's the answer, but i think it's worth evaluating our relationship with digitalism.
On this week’s episode of Becoming Better, my cohost Ardyn and I dig into an experiment that we recently conducted: doing a one-month digital declutter. (I introduce Ardyn, my cohost, at the start of this week’s episode!)
A digital declutter—an idea that Cal Newport popularizes in his new book, Digital Minimalism—is an exercise where you step back from most parts of your digital life for one month, to see which things bring you the most value.
