When you get a reference on the phone, how do you make the most of your time with them? It's always best utfront, to ask for a set amount of time, whether that is 30 minutes. I think it's difficult to do a full evaluation in reference on some one just in 15 minutes. Get enough information from the reference to understand how the candidate has interacted with the person.
