The Kambahi River Collective Is a Powerful Form of Identity Politics

The kambahi river collective introduces the phrase identity politics. They don't mean it in a kind of exclusionary way, where like, only black women can talk about what's happening to black women. But they are saying, because we're black women, we're able to see something here that you haven't been able to see outside of our standpoint. It was also about giving women tools to combat the violence in the communities that they lived in.
