The book is still an academic book and I do want it to be read by my colleagues. The writing style of the book is not any different from let's say the writing I do for the New York Times which I like to think is accessible to anyone although sometimes my parents friends say they couldn't understand a single word. If people are like how should I learn about contemporary music I'll say go read Alex Ross's book the rest is noise, he says.
