Norman mayler thought burrouws was basically a genius, right? A and faint, kind of famously. There wasn't much credit for burrows in tha sort of main treme literati. Burrows never really knew how to have relationship with anybody but his crush Carawakan ind ginsburg. He ended up cutting off the top knuckle on his pinky finger like a vincent van Gogh. And he would do these crazy, speculative, far out moments,. But the writing is almost always crisp and avocative and economicallike.
