Weigel's Laboratory in Poland - A History of Polish Culture
Wegel's lab produced a typhus vaccine in poland during the soviet and notsy occupations. He hired hundreds of people as louse feeders, often polish intellectuals or jewish people who were under incredible threat from notty occupation. Weigel was forced to keep working at his institute when many other polish intellectuals were being deported or imprisoned by both sovie and notse troops. In 19 37, for instance, a law was passed that jewish people had to remain standing in university classes in levof.
