Janice's father spent four years in a Greek concentration camp for left-wingers. Her mother was the first female student of chemistry at University of Athens. Janice grew up in Cairo, Egypt and became vice mayor of her home city before she died in 2008. She is married to former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
