Dostin and the Dossip of the Other
The Dostin is the over presence, unbearable excess of the other that is opaque to the other itself and opaque to you as a subject. So oftentimes this will manifest itself in the first caregiver, like this Dostin of the parent that is constantly on the child back. And so you can see how that kind of eventually becomes abjaya. It's interesting because for a lot of people that are in this Lacanian line of thought, abjaya basically is important and Dostin isn't. But for certain people, namely my friend Richard Boothby, he's writing a book on religion and it's all about Dostin.
