The Rise of Satellite Photobombing
In 2022, satellites photobombed Hubble every one to two hours. That means 5% of the images taken 20 years ago were affected and now it's about 10%. The rate will surely continue rising, says astronomer Sandor Kruch. Some companies have tested possible solutions, like covering a satellite with a thin film so it reflects less light.
