If there was a universal basic income, wouldn't there be jobs that society needs to function that people just wouldn't do anymore? I love that question. Why do garbage truck operators make an average of 60,000 a year? You got me. But less desirable jobs, you just have to pay more. What's wrong with that? If you can afford your basic needs, you can hold out for better pay. We're not going to see a need to regulate higher pay. It'll just happen because people can actually pursue the jobs they want and reject abusive jobs or jobs that don't respect them or pay them too much.
