Alchemy and the Development of Science

The idea that human beings can interact reality in such a way so that the tragic and evil elements of it can be mitigated is implicit in alchemical ideas. And karl young, when he wrote about the emergence of science from alchemy, thought of science as being motivated by dream. He went back into the alchemical texts and interpreted them as if they were the dream on which science was founded. That's what he was trying to get at....
