When you focus on a niche, it's easier for you to control your marketing and build up an audience that's best served here. So when I first sat down to start a consulting business, I thought I wanted to do everything for everybody. But in fact, you can't talk to your ideal customer when they are everybody,. You have to niche down and say, I'm talking to this person about solving this problem.
