What Changes in the Scientific Revolution
An important aspect of the scientific revolution was precisely putting some of these disagreements aside. So saying, essentially, discarding along thousands of years long tradition of doing the philosophy of nature philosophically as well as empirically. The other part of it was agreeing to a relatively shallow conception of explanatory goodness where things like beauty and elegance are not built into our standards for explanatory goodness.
