I don't think the state of New South Wales was prepared for a disaster of this scale, and especially on the back of the bushfires that tore along the East Coast. It's clear that in Lizmore and the surrounding areas, people are feeling let down by the government response. With more people moving into the floodplain who have never experienced anything like what was seen in February 2022, if it happens again, they're going to be exposed. A new bill has been introduced that would put a stop to cushy jobs for federal politicians. Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said he didn't assess the legality of the Robodette scheme under his leadership.
