The Uniform Determination of Death Act
I've been working with something called the Uniform Laws Commission. It has representatives from every state that have been appointed usually by the governor of that state to work on model laws where uniformity of laws is useful in the United States. And one of those laws that the commission has written is called the Uniform Determination of Death Act, which has two parts. The first part is the death as most of us understand it or know it, which is when the heart stops beating and you stop breathing.
