I Don't Want the Taiwanese People to Get Killed, I Just Want Them to Get Out

I think we're both of the opinion that an invasion of Taiwan would not be a fun thing and might not even succeed for the mainland. I don't want Beijing to be put in a situation where it feels like its credibility is on the line and so it tries to invade it. We've seen enough now that war is possible. Great power competition has reemerged and our politicians, our diplomats are not used to that. They all came up during the Unipolar moment. But when I look at the possible Republican field, I'm just terrified of what might happen because they have a real knee jerk fear of China.
