The first six attacks were in Maryland, the seventh was in Washington, D.C., and the eighth was south of Washington in Virginia. By this point, local schools were taking steps to protect the children by not letting them go outside. The ninth shot was fired on Monday, October 7th, at 8.09 a.m. in Bowie, Maryland,. He was being dropped off at school by his aunt, who was a nurse, and she was still there. As a result, 13-year-old Iran Brown survived.
