The Rise of Cornerbacks in the NFL Draft

In 2023, no safety was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. So that's now three out of the last four years. We have not seen a safety go early on day one. The problem is it's hard to find the Rod Woodson who could play corner, but then he can come back inside and play safety. It's a hard thing to do because guys are not trained that way. they're coverage guys. They want to play.
