Sodam had hoped to emulate the israelis, who won six day war in 67. The aranians launched a counter offensive to take back what territory they had lost. Aranian backed curds opened up a new front of war against sedam. As is always the case with the curds, the curds are re weaponized at precisely point at which it becomes convenient for somebody to do that.
