A copyright claim like this, if it were decided in a particular way, could theoretically I suppose choke the produce that these models of the data required to train them. So let's move on to the benefits then. Is that a price you want to pay? Because clearly in this situation there are many risks but they do need to be balanced against the benefits. And we're just going to have to sit back and wait until chat GPT accidentally reproduces an entire Disney movie or some company which is known for aggressively asserting its copyright.
