How Do You Calculate Inflation?
It's mainly driven by higher household energy bills. The office for national statistics uses a basket of goods to calculate what a typical household would buy. Almost a third of the items in that basket are already running at five % inflation or more a year. So m it could be a worse problem than the four point two number even suggests.
