Is Your Faith in God a Cosmic Vending Machine?
I like that see it as this part of life that questions, because isn't that the role of this accuser? He's saying, look, job is grey because he has all these blessings. If he didn't have all those, he wouldn't be so great. A lot of learning how to live your religion involves growing out of that natural way of thinking about god and religion. It goes back to what you said earlier about this is going to rewrite the basic assumptions we have about god. That's what we get, kind of a front row seat here to seeing job undergo that transformation alive in real time.
