After an hour or two of multi tasking our neural resources are quite depleted. Taking that brake to go for a walk, to look out the window is tremendously restorative. These two modes of the brain fun like a sea saw. When you're in one, you're not in the other. And they balance each other out. That's why when the air traffic controllers take a break, they're not supposed to be doing mail and checking facebook. Theyre not suposed to be looking at their colleague screen, at the planes, you know, landing. In mind clearing is one such type of break.
