We are living in 19 84, a date which has an ominous ring for those of us who have read george orwel. Why should we have more faith in an amoryllus bulb than in ourselves? When society deliberately programs itself to a set of norms, they have very little to do with instinct, love or privacy. The person who sets out to become an individual trusting in the dignity of his own soul and the creativity of his own imagination, has good reason to be afraid. As he works in the silence of his cacoon, he often wonders if he is crazy.
